Mission

Managing risks from advanced artificial intelligence is one of the most important problems of our time. We are a student interest group building a community of technical and policy researchers at Georgia Tech aimed at reducing these risks and steering the trajectory of AI development for the better.

Current (Spring 2025)

AI Safety Fellowship

A 6-week seminar that introduces the basic arguments for caution in AI development from a technical perspective.  Fellows produce a whitepaper/blog on chosen topics in AI alignment. 

ARENA cohorts

Get paired with other students at a similar level to gain the technical skills needed to conduct alignment research.  ARENA is a rigorous technical program.

AI Governance Fellowship

A 9-week reading group in which participants produce whitepaper on open problems in AI governance.

Research

We host several resarch projects investigating open problems in AI safety, including specification, robustness, interpretability, and governance

We work with the leading research non-profit EleutherAI to conduct projects in AI alignment.

SPAR Projects

The Supervised Program for Alignment Research connects students with advisors to conduct projects in AI safety.
